Last week we had some wee animators trying their hand at the classic art form of stop-motion animation. They did a great job at remembering to make just tiny movements in between pictures which is actually quite a complex concept to grasp when you’re under the age of 7.
It was interesting to see how their animations became longer with each activity. There was also a spirit of collaboration, as you may have noticed explosions became a running theme in the class and many of the students worked together on their final projects.
One of our little learners also paid us a visit at Craft Central on Saturday where we had set up an animation station for kids to animate while their parents shopped. It was so encouraging to see him not just animating without instruction, but also teaching his friend, who had never animated before, how it was done.
